MacNamara Foundation Studios and Living FacilityThis building, fondly nicknamed "MacBarn", housed artist residents in a communal space. The Studio Manager and Studio Assistant customized each space for each artist. Living quarters were above the studio space. See more about MacNamara Foundation here. |
Priscilla's Studio Space at MacNamaraGenerous studio space made work a pleasure. A wall of Homasote was set up for Priscilla to pin work-in-progress to. A bank of lights simulated gallery lighting. The Studio Assistant, a recent graduate of the Maine College of Art, and the Studio Manager, an artist, were superb. They were always ready to offer help and advice, and together they hung Dispersion in the James Patrick Gallery, a picky and tedious task that they performed admirably and with good humor. |
Taking a BreakWestport Island has many tidal inlets, and good roads with little traffic for walking to clear the head. The Maine coast is gorgeous in winter, and there are no crowds or traffic! |
The ResidentsEven artists have to do laundry! This was the last of our weekly trips to the laundromat in Damariscotta, Maine, where we also ran errands to the Post Office, bookstore, art supply store, etc. Priscilla is at the far right of the top row. |
